The pieces shown on this site are typical of the high quality ceramic work one has come to expect from Juliet Armstrong, a leading exponent of bone china sculpture both in South Africa and abroad. Her examination of traditional Zulu ceramics and attire is part of her interest in cross-cultural studies, whilst her reinterpretation of this attire in the delicate western medium of bone china raises extremely fascinating issues of cross-cultural identity and post-strucuralist aesthetic theory.
